Check out the interview I just posted on my Livemore neighborhood Parkbench website. It is with Tom Nygaard, the Store Manager for Wheel Works here in Livermore. What a down to Earth and great guy. If you need a mechanic (not just tires) who cares about you and your car, take the time to read my interview and see if Livermore Wheel Works sounds like the place for you. I have taken my car there since I moved to Livermore 13 years ago…as soon as they opened.
Check Out the Opera Don Pasquale Playing at the Bankhead Theater-There are English Subtitles!
I had the pleasure of attending the Family Night Dress Rehearsal of this Opera last night with my 6th grade son. The Livermore Valley Opera allows students and teachers to attend this event for free and their adult chaperones only pay a minimal ticket fee of $10. We had never attended an opera, me mostly because I know they are not in English, but since my son is in Choir and he received extra credit for going, it was free for him and a nominal fee for me, we decided to go.
We were pleasantly surprised that they had “subtitles” playing at the top of the curtain on stage. It made it much more accessible for the children and adults as well. Since I have never attended an opera, I called the Bankhead today to see if that is a normal thing or if they were doing it for the benefit of the students present; they said it is a normal thing there. So, if you are like me and have avoided operas in the past because they are in a foreign language, go check out this cute production of Don Pasquale at the Bankhead Theater. It runs for two weekend Saturdays and Sundays Starting September 30 through Oct 8th, 2017.
Check out the Bankhead’s Event List to get tickets online at https://lvpac.org/events/list/
For those unfamiliar with Livermore, the Bankhead theater is located at 2400 First St
Livermore, CA in the plaza between Sauced restaurants and Paxti’s Pizza. The best parking for the event is the Free Parking garage located on Railroad across the street from the Bankhead Theater.
